COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT)
established the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) to introduce and implement
the procedures and systematic standards by the guide line of HEC for monitoring
and evaluation of the various aspects of a project, service, or facility
to ensure that standards of quality are being met.
HEC has design the Self-assessment Manual. This manual
also gives eight major criterion subdivided into related standards to

in this direction for developing policies and procedures.
Assessment is a systematic process of gathering, reviewing
and using important quantitative and qualitative data and information
from multiple and diverse sources about educational programs, for the
purpose of improving student learning, and evaluating whether academic
and learning standards are being met. The process culminates when assessment
results are used to improve student learning. A successful assessment
program includes the following:
- Purpose identification
- Outcomes identification
- Measurements and evaluation design
- Data collection
- Analysis and evaluation
- Decision-making regarding actions to be taken.
