Directorate of Academics

Directorate of Academics (DoA) was established on July 24, 2008 at Principal seat of the COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT) with the objective to streamline the academic and academic-related activities in the CIIT system.

The Directorate of Academics oversees the academic activities of the campuses and develops initiatives to enhance CIIT stature in the higher education world. It anticipates future developments in higher education and their impact on the university, identifies the threats and opportunities they pose, and evaluate the needs inherent in meeting those challenges creatively and effectively and hence provides guidance in the university’s academic programs/activities.

The directorate is the custodian of matters relating to academic regulation and quality assurance and enhancement of academic provision throughout the Institute; thereby it endeavors to maintain/ensure academic quality of the departments, programs, and services within its ambit through coordination among different statutory and administrative bodies and implementing the policies formulated/ approved by these bodies.

The Directorate of Academic facilitates in providing a range of services to the CIIT students. These include, but not limited to, admissions, registration, inter-campus migrations, financial support, and looking into students’ affairs at large and co-curricular & extra-curricular activities of the students. The Directorate is actively engaged to modernizing various activities of the Institute and its academic functionaries.
